When conflict, stress or a big change leaves your family feeling pulled apart, counseling gives everyone a calmer place to talk and listen. I have worked with families for more than 35 years.
Families with adults and teens ages 13 and older: parents and teens who are struggling to talk, siblings and adult family members in conflict, or a family dealing with a major change such as a move, a loss or a divorce.
I do not currently see children 12 and younger. Everyone does not have to agree about the problem for counseling to help. You only need to be willing to try.
We begin with a conversation about what is happening and what each person hopes will change. From there, sessions focus on how your family communicates, how stress shows up between you, and small, practical changes that make home feel calmer.
I do not take sides or make decisions for your family. My role is to help each person be heard and to help you find your own way forward.
Family counseling is helpful when disagreements escalate into emotional distress or angry confrontations again and again. Together we work on understanding one another, solving problems as a team and rebuilding trust.
Many families come in because of a teen who is struggling, tension between parents, or the strain of a loss or a life change. If the conflict is mainly between you and your partner, marriage and couples counseling may be the better place to start, and individual counseling is available for any family member.
I am based in Fort Worth, and online sessions are also available, so you can meet from home anywhere in Texas. Sessions are 60 minutes. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), licensed since 1990.

That is common, and it does not mean counseling cannot help. We can start with a parent, with the whole family, or with the teen when they are ready. I work with teens ages 13 and up at a pace that respects them, and I am glad to talk with you first about the best way to begin.
Yes. Blended families, divorce, a move, a loss or a new baby can all change how a family works together. Family counseling helps everyone say what they need and find new ways of relating to one another.
