General
Call me at 806-786-9252 or send a message through the contact page. Before your first session, I offer a free 15-minute phone call so we can talk about what you are looking for and whether we are a good fit.
I work with adults and teens ages 13 and up, including couples, families and individuals. I do not currently see children 12 and younger.
I see clients Monday through Thursday, from 8am to 8pm Central time.
Yes. I am welcoming new clients. Reach out and we will find a time that works.
I have been counseling since 1988 and have been licensed since 1990. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S).
We will talk about what brought you in and what you hope will change. There is no pressure to say everything at once. My role is to listen, help you understand what is happening and work with you on next steps.
Fees & Insurance
Sessions are 60 minutes, and the fee is $200 per session.
No. I do not take insurance. My practice is private pay.
Yes. I offer a free 15-minute phone call before your first session so we can talk about what you are looking for.
I accept Venmo, Zelle, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
I ask that you kindly give 24 hours notice if you must cancel or reschedule an appointment. Same-day cancellations are not included in this 24-hour notice.
Because I do not bill insurance, you have the right to a written estimate of the expected cost of your counseling. Learn more on the Good Faith Estimate page.
Online Therapy
Yes. Online sessions are also available by secure video, so you can meet with me from home or another private place anywhere in Texas.
I offer both in-person and online counseling. Call 806-786-9252 or send a message and we can talk through which option fits you best.
Yes. I am licensed in Texas, so you need to be physically in Texas at the time of your session.
A phone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone, a steady internet connection and a private space where you can talk freely. Couples often find it helps to sit together in front of one screen.
For many concerns, including couples counseling, family concerns, anxiety, depression and grief, online counseling can work well. I will tell you honestly if I think another kind of support would serve you better.
Couples
No. I work with married couples, partners and engaged couples preparing for marriage.
Many couples wait until the relationship is in serious trouble. Starting earlier usually makes it easier to change patterns, so if you are wondering whether to reach out, it is a good time.
It depends on your goals. Many couples meet weekly at first, then every other week or monthly as things improve.
It works best when both partners take part, but one partner can still begin. Sometimes that first step makes it easier for the other to join later. Call and we can talk about the best way to start.
Individual
People come to me for anxiety, depression, grief, abuse, life changes and other difficult times. You will have room to express your fears, concerns and emotions, and to gain the insight you need to make positive changes.
Counseling is private. What you share stays between us, with limited exceptions required by law, such as a risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else, or abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult. We will go over this together at the start.
It depends on what you are working on and what you want to change. Some people come for a few sessions to work through a specific situation, and others meet regularly over a longer period. Sessions are 60 minutes, and we check in along the way about whether it is helping.
That is very common. You do not need an agenda or a clear problem to begin. We can start with what brought you in, what feels heavy right now, or what you wish were different, and go from there.
Family
Yes. I see teens ages 13 and older, on their own or as part of family counseling. I do not currently see children 12 and younger.
Family counseling helps when conflict, stress or a major change leaves your family feeling pulled apart. We work on how you communicate and support one another.
That is common, and it does not mean counseling cannot help. We can start with a parent, with the whole family, or with the teen when they are ready. I work with teens ages 13 and up at a pace that respects them, and I am glad to talk with you first about the best way to begin.
Yes. Blended families, divorce, a move, a loss or a new baby can all change how a family works together. Family counseling helps everyone say what they need and find new ways of relating to one another.
Addiction
Yes. I offer chemical dependency counseling, including alcohol abuse counseling and drug abuse counseling, and counseling for other addictions, for the person struggling and for the family members affected. Counseling can be a first step toward recovery.
Yes. Addiction affects the whole family, and family members are welcome to come on their own or together. We can talk about boundaries, communication and how to take care of yourself while supporting someone you love.
You do not need to have everything figured out before you reach out. We start where you are and talk about what you want to change. If you need medical support, such as for withdrawal, I will help you find the right resources.
Christian Counseling
No. If your faith is important to you, I am glad to include it in our work. If it is not, we will focus on what matters to you.
Christian counseling brings your faith into the counseling process, alongside the same professional care I offer every client. It is an option, not a requirement.
Yes. If faith is important to you or your family, it can be included in marriage, couples and family counseling as well as individual work. If it is not, we simply focus on the counseling itself.
Supervision
Yes. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and I supervise LPC Associates individually.
My supervision fee is $100 per hour.
Call 806-786-9252 or send a message through the contact page, and we can talk about your situation and next steps.
