Parenting is hard. You do not have to figure it out alone

Parenting is hard, and no one has all the answers. Counseling gives you support, perspective and practical ideas for raising your children and keeping your family connected.

Signs you might notice

Conflict with your teen or child is wearing everyone down
You and your partner disagree about how to parent
You are adjusting to a divorce, a blended family or a big change at home
You worry about your child's mood, behavior or choices
You feel guilty, exhausted or unsure you are doing it right

How I can help

Because I work with couples and families, I look at parenting as part of the whole family. We talk about what is happening at home, how each of you sees it, and what would help.

I offer practical ideas for communication, expectations and consequences, and I help parents get on the same page. I see teens ages 13 and up, and I do not see children 12 and under, so if your child is younger I am glad to work with you as the parent.

When to reach out

Parents often wait until things feel out of control. You are welcome sooner, when you first sense that something is not working.

Counseling that can help

When conflict, stress or a big change leaves your family feeling pulled apart, counseling gives everyone a calmer place to talk and listen. I have worked with families for more than 35 years.

Approaches I draw on

Seeing each person in the context of the family, and helping the whole family change together.

Focusing on the choices you can make now to meet your needs.

Starting with what you do well and building from there.

Strengthening the structure and boundaries that hold a family together.
