What it is

Person-centered therapy is built on the belief that people have the capacity to grow when they feel heard and accepted. The counselor offers warmth, honesty and close attention, and you lead.

What a session looks like

Sessions are open conversations about whatever is on your mind. I listen carefully and reflect back what I hear, without judgment or pressure.

Who it can help

Grief, life changes, self-doubt, and anyone who wants to be listened to and to find their own answers.

About my training

In my work I draw on ideas from Person-Centered Therapy, along with other methods suited to each person.

Counseling that uses this approach

When life feels heavy, or you are not sure what to do next, individual counseling gives you room to say what you are feeling and make sense of it. I have worked with individuals for more than 35 years.

No one plans to struggle with chemical dependency, alcohol abuse or drug abuse, and it can happen to anyone. Counseling can be a first step toward sobriety and a life that feels like yours again. I have worked with people in recovery and their families for more than 35 years.

If your faith is part of who you are, it can be part of your counseling too. I bring the same professional care to every client and welcome faith into the conversation when you want it there.

Concerns this can help with

Support for the decisions, emotions and changes that come with separation and divorce.

Support after the death of someone you love and other major losses.

Support when a major change has you feeling unsettled.

Support for the pressures, changes and relationships women face.
